New parents workshop
There are so many things to discover about our new babies and about ourselves as parents. In this three and a half hour workshop we will explore the many joys and challenges ahead as you journey into parenthood.
Workshops run over three and a half hours usually on a Saturday morning or afternoon.
Getting to know your amazing baby… Babies are equipped at birth with amazing abilities to communicate. Recognizing and understanding your individual baby requires patience and trust.
Relax and enjoy your baby!
We will discuss: newborn inner resources and instincts; two way communication with our babies before and after birth; how we recognize baby’s cues.
Baby care… With all the books, products, friendly advice and professional help available to us today, how do we know what's right for us and our baby?
We will discuss: what babies really need; using our instincts and what we already know; routines and rituals; crying and settling; bathing and nappy skills.
Breastfeeding… "It's the most natural thing in the world!" Yes, it's an amazing process with so many benefits. So how do we encourage and support a woman to enjoy breastfeeding her baby?
We will discuss: the first breastfeed; how it works best; mother led/baby led attachment; preventing/managing problems; community support.
Adjusting to being a parent… While adjusting to this time of transition, we need to be easy on ourselves, encourage each other and build a supportive network.
We will discuss: ourselves as parents; postnatal challenges; relaxing into those early weeks; the joys of parenthood; community support.
Cost: The cost of an Early Parenting workshop is $105 for a group, $210 for a private session
